SAN SEBASTIAN – La Roma resiste all’Anoeta e grazie al 2-0 dell’andata, stacca il pass per i quarti di finale di una Europa League che, vedendo le pretendenti rimaste, sembra una Champions. La Real Sociedad aveva promesso una battaglia (tempesta perfetta) ma alla fine dei 102’ (12’ di recupero tra primo e secondo tempo) la squadra di Mourinho, non ha dovuto soffrire poi molto per portare a casa la qualificazione. Il primo tempo è stata proprio la Roma a rendersi più pericolosa prima con una conclusione dal limite di Dybala che deviata fa la barba al palo col portiere basco immobile, poi al primo dei 5’ di recupero concessi dall’arbitro, con Smalling che insacca un angolo di Dybala corretto da Belotti, ma toccando la palla col braccio. Inevitabile l’intervento del Var che salva i baschi. Nella ripresa i padroni di casa accelerano e vanno ad un passo dal gol con un colpo di testa di Sorloth indirizzato male; l’azione più pericolosa della Real Sociedad porta ad un intervento importante di Rui Patricio che sulla conseguente ribattuta viene salvato dalla traversa. Sembra l’inizio del forcing totale dei biancoblu, invece resterà l’unico vero pericolo per la porta giallorossa. È così dopo 7’ di recupero, la Roma si guadagna meritatamente l’accesso ai quarti di finale e domani conoscerà il nome del prossimo avversario.
